Lots of natural light from adjacent living room.

The apartment: Absolutely GIGANTIC, two-story living space, 20’+ ceilings, 5-bedrooms, living room + full kitchen + dining area + 2 door entry. 2 full baths!!! Also includes cutaway bar area and a stage (no joke). Additional storage room downstairs. Location: Maujer St. between Union and Lorimer. Only 4 blocks from the Lorimer L Train & Metropolian G Train. Right around the corner from Barcade. Full grocery store right on the corner. Restaurants, bars, laundromats, post office and gas station on the corner. Landlord’s son lives in building and is prompt with repairs.

Your new roommates: a teacher, a bartender, a live sound tech and a fashion designer. All are laid-back, friendly and respectful. Everyone has a different schedule, and the sheer size of the space gives you plenty of daily alone time and privacy. One roommate (sound dude) is on the road nearly half the time. I’ve lived here for 2 years and have no complains.

Rent is $960 a month + utilities (gas + electric + water + internet = usually about $100 a month). No lease required. You move in, you move out whenever as long as you give 30 days notice. We’d prefer someone with a desire to stay long-term.

1 month’s deposit is required to move in + last month’s rent, which can be broken down into 3 or 4 payments along with your first 4 months rent. It’s a lot of cash but you get the deposit back + you don’t have to pay last month’s rent when you move out. Sure beats a broker’s fee.
